MDOK is an experienced qualified quantity surveyor with a wealth of knowledge in numerous construction sectors. Including Rail, House building, Civil Engineering and Groundwork's. Our aim is to always deliver to our clients needs and objectives.

MDOK has also worked as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor for some of Britain’s most established Housing developers and Main contractors, as well as gaining client side experience working on behalf of Network Rail within a Senior Commercial Manager / Commercial Manager positions.

Once we understand your needs and project requirements, we can create a practical plan that caters for every stage of design, construction and project delivery. You may have a detailed business case or brief for a project or prefer to engage us to develop a full brief. We will work with you to create an optimum procurement strategy to balance risk, design, quality, budget and benefits.

Preparation of comprehensive tender enquiry information packs, including full measurement and scope review. Can provide value engineered solutions to suit all budgets. Detailed tender analysis, and sub-contractor selection.


Preparation of detailed bills of quantities, cost estimates and cost plan budgets for a range of construction projects including groundwork's and Reinforced concrete at both pre-construction feasibly stage, and during construction phase. Estimates can be tailored to suit trade packages, or the full design and build of construction projects. Thorough knowledge of current market rates and the use of market lead estimating publications.

Once the award is made, we will prepare and collate Contract Documentation and incorporate agreed changes. Standard or bespoke Forms of Contract will be completed and we will arrange for contracts to be signed.

Management of cash flow, and internal forecasts to provide cost certainty throughout the delivery of a construction project. Interim valuations and payment applications. Detailed Cost / Value reconciliation reporting. Risk and opportunity analysis, and advice on mitigation of risks whilst maximising opportunities. Settlement of final accounts. Management of collateral warranties, bonds and retention's.

PROJECTS

  • Project: Bath Spa Railway Station upgrade.
  • Works Undertaken: Senior Commercial Manager / Senior Cost Manager (Client Side). Looking after all aspects of the Commercial side of the project on behalf of Network Rail.
  • Budget: £15 Million.
  • Final Cost: £14.95 Million, under budget.
  • Project: Jubilee Park, Rogerstone, (Gwent), Housing development (250 Houses). Various house types from 2,3,4,5 Bedrooms.
  • Works Undertaken: Senior Quantity Surveyor, Change Control Management, Procurement. Working on behalf of Bellway Homes managing numerous subcontractors and supply chains.
  • Budget: £50 Million.
  • Final Cost: £50 Million, on budget.
  • Project Name: South Wales Electrification Scheme.
  • Works Undertaken: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Change account Lead (Main Contractor). Looking after numerous Design Subcontractors in order to facilitate the construction works on Behalf of Balfour Beatty.
  • Budget: Overall Project Budget £110 Million. Design Budget was £25 Million.
  • Final Cost: Works are still on-going but the final figure is expected to be £190 million. This is a good result for Balfour Beatty as they have increased their turnover on the job by £80 million. Design Final spend was near to £28 million. Once again from a Balfour Beatty perspective this resulted in an additional £3 million of turnover.
  • Project Name: Transport for Wales, Core Valley Lines Upgrade works.
  • Works Undertaken: Lead Estimator, involved in developing budgets for all civil engineer works associated with Platform, Footbridge and Parapets improvement works.
  • Budget: Overall Programme budget £780 million. Civil's element between £80-£100 million.
  • Final Cost: Unknown as yet, works are still in progress.
